Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!
Cody Rhodes likely not appearing on WWE programming until WrestleMania
As Cody Rhodes has officially signed a contract with WWE, the reported plan is for him to make his first appearance at WrestleMania itself. It seems to be the same move they made when the Hardy Boyz returned at WrestleMania 33, where they were a surprise addition to the RAW Tag Team Championship match, as they want the big crowd reaction for his first appearance. The rumored plan is for Cody Rhodes to face Seth Rollins at the event. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)
We say: This does seem to be the plan now after Seth went another week going after somebody else's WrestleMania spot, and it's likely the direction after Cody took a while to sign his WWE contract. While there is still a possibility for Cody to appear in the go-home show (to officially set the matchup), it's looking more and more like they're saving the big moment for the event.
Omos to face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania
Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is set to make his return to face Omos at WrestleMania. Lashley had been out with a shoulder injury since Elimination Chamber last month, and it seems he is cleared to compete. (Source: @WrestleVotes on Twitter)
We say: This is an intriguing matchup as there's no clear winner on paper, and it's at least something for two stars on RAW to do.
