The Grapevine (3/21/22): WWE Wants WrestleManias To Go Two Nights, Stone Cold Steve Austin To Close Night One, Tag Title Match Update

    Stone Cold Steve Austin

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

WWE reportedly wants WrestleMania to be two nights moving forward

There are some within WWE pushing for WrestleMania to be a two-night event moving forward. While it hasn't been announced yet, around 60,000 tickets being sold for each night this year is a good sign for the event. (Source: Dave Meltzer)

We say: Well, this seems like the most obvious choice—it's going to be a longer stay for the fans, but it's a lot better than sitting through seven hours of wrestling, and it's certainly going to make the company more money.

KO Show rumored to close WrestleMania Night 1

The Kevin Owens-Stone Cold Steve Austin confrontation is set to close out the first night of WrestleMania, despite original rumors saying that Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women's Championship would be the main event. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has stated that Austin had been "training hard," which may be an indication that he will be doing more than just a Stunner. (Source: kermit125 on Reddit)

We say: There's no way WWE would close a WrestleMania night with just a talking segment, so this has to be a low-key match happening. Austin wouldn't be training for just a few spots, either. We'd keep a close eye on this one.

WWE changes WrestleMania tag title matches

The RAW Tag Team Championship match originally scheduled between RKBro and the Street Profits will reportedly be changed to include former champions Alpha Academy. The other change was made on last Friday's SmackDown, with the team of Shayna Baszler and Natalya being added to the Women's Tag Team Championship match. (Source: WON)

We say: We now see WWE trying to get everyone on the WrestleMania card as much as possible, which is normal. Expect to see the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on WrestleMania SmackDown (if they're doing that again).
