News on Kevin Owens's new contract
Kevin Owens confirmed last week that he signed a new contract with WWE amounting to around $2 to 3 million per year for three years. This kind of contract is apparently a 90-day deal that WWE could renew regularly at their own discretion, and could see Owens get released whenever WWE wants. It was reportedly the same kind of contract Bray Wyatt signed, which led to his release earlier this year. (Source: WON)
We say: It seems like the word about this kind of contract is true, if Bray Wyatt and the OC are any indications. We're not sure if WWE would've still had the power to release them from their contracts prematurely even without the 90-day clause, as they pretty much control the wrestlers' whole status even as independent contractors.
WWE reportedly wants MJF
WWE and its partner TV networks FOX and USA are reportedly interested in signing AEW star MJF. MJF's contract with AEW runs until 2024, and AEW president Tony Khan has already stated in interviews that he wishes to keep him in the company. (Source: Andrew Zarian)
We say: If we were MJF, we'd stay in AEW. WWE just wants him as a piece in their machine and would probably not keep him the same character.
