The Grapevine (7/7/21): WWE To Make Decision On Jimmy Uso, Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship Was Created In 2016

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

WWE disappointed with Jimmy Uso's latest DUI arrest

A decision from WWE regarding Jimmy Uso and his latest DUI arrest in Florida may be coming soon. Uso has a history of DUI arrests, with the company considering releasing him after his previous incident but opting to keep him. At least two high-level WWE officials are said to be "extremely disappointed" over the incident. (Source: @WrestleVotes)

We say: It will be interesting to see if his current top role as part of Roman Reigns's entourage will protect him from a firing, considering his history of arrests. We'll see.

WWE apparently created Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship

Former WWE Superstar Jack Gallagher says that the company originally created a Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship back in the division's relaunch in 2016. The wrestlers discovered the belts in a truck housing props, and pitched many times to get the titles on TV, which obviously did not come to fruition. (Source: @mrgentlemanjack on Instagram)

We say: The division could've supported it at the time, even though it would've added to the glut of titles on the main roster. It's worth speculating on how far the division and 205 Live could've gone if they did have it.
