The Grapevine (6/11/21): Bray Wyatt Intentionally Off TV, SummerSlam Weekend NXT Takeover Plans

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

WWE reportedly keeping Bray Wyatt off TV on purpose

Bray Wyatt's absence from WWE TV since the RAW after WrestleMania is apparently intentional. He has no heat or anything of the sort—it seems to be a way to sell the loss to Randy Orton by way of interference from Alexa Bliss, though there are no updates on any plans for him either. We say: Totally understandable if that was the case. Let's just hope they actually have a plan in mind for Wyatt, because that loss damaged him likely beyond repair.

Plans for the NXT Takeover following In Your House

WWE is planning for the SummerSlam weekend NXT Takeover to happen on Sunday night. SummerSlam is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 21, from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas at the request of the venue. The Takeover will still be held at the Capitol Wrestling Center, with an option to move it elsewhere if needed. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: It's an interesting dynamic, but it's also one that makes a lot of sense. Looking forward to a Saturday SummerSlam here in the Philippines—never really understood the logic of big Sunday night shows.
