The Grapevine (5/5/21): Daniel Bryan's WWE Contract Expires, Kip Sabian Injured

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns on WWE SmackDown

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

    Daniel Bryan's WWE contract expires

Daniel Bryan's WWE contract reportedly expired on Friday after his match with Roman Reigns. This doesn't yet mean that he has already left WWE; the company is apparently pushing or wanting him to sign a new deal that may likely see his dates reduced due to the wear and tear on his body and his desire to spend more time with his family. We say: This is the news bit to watch this week. It seems as though Bryan has not signed a new contract with WWE just yet, but his departure from the company is not being ruled out. In any case, he has also expressed his desire to wrestle in other companies, so this is an exciting time for Bryan fans. Watch this space for more updates as we get them.

    Kip Sabian injured

Kip Sabian is reportedly injured again after having recently returned from an injury. The beatdown at the hands of Miro on last week's episode of Dynamite was apparently done to write him off as he gets surgery. His last match was the Arcade Anarchy tag team match on the March 25 episode of Dynamite. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: Get well soon, Kip, but nobody really wants to see Kip vs. Miro, we're afraid.
