Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!
WWE expecting Daniel Bryan to re-sign
WWE fully expects Daniel Bryan to re-sign with the company eventually. Daniel Bryan is still being mentioned on TV after his contract has expired, which is not a usual occurrence as alumni are generally no longer mentioned. However, nobody knows what Bryan is planning regarding his career, and WWE expects him to take the next few months off if he is planning to come back. (Source: WrestlingNews.co)
We say: It looks and sounds like WWE is trying to convince themselves more than the audience, who are just about ready to see Bryan tear it up in other companies. We probably won't get an answer to this mystery for the next few months, so let's let the man live a little.
WWE has long-term plans for Roman Reigns and the Usos
There are big plans in place for the Usos and Roman Reigns. Jimmy Uso has officially returned from injury on last Friday's SmackDown, teasing his joining in Reigns's stable. It's being reported that the Usos are set to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship from a babyface team soon, presumably once Jimmy is fully established in the stable. (Source: WrestlingNews.co)
We say: The return was a little rushed as they're making up for time, but if the story is laid out well in advance then it's probably going to be better than most. We're looking forward to this.
Mia Yim originally planned to debut on last Friday's SmackDown
Mia Yim was set to debut on last Friday's episode of SmackDown, but was cut from the final script. She is now scheduled to debut on this week's episode. She has not been seen since RETRIBUTION disbanded on RAW. (Source: Ringside News)
We say: We're not entirely sure how true this is considering the source, but the SmackDown women's division does need a boost. With no hype being generated before Yim's debut, though, we're kind of worried about how it's going to go down.
