Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!
Where is the Roman Reigns/Usos feud heading?
The reported plan for the Roman Reigns vs. Usos feud is to eventually have Jey Uso turn heel and fully align with his cousin. There is no particular timetable for this, but it will likely be soon after Reigns forced Uso to quit at Hell in a Cell, resulting in Uso needing to follow the Tribal Chief's orders. There's no plan yet on whether Jimmy Uso will turn as well once he's cleared to return next year. (Source: Wrestling Inc)
We say: If it means an extension of this really good story, then we're all for it. It's also going to help a lot of the SmackDown talent.
Note on Kylie Rae's absence from Bound for Glory
Kylie Rae was not present at Bound for Glory despite being advertised for the Knockouts Championship match due to a reported injury. This is despite arriving in Nashville for the show tapings. Impact wrestlers could not reach her, but eventually found out that she was "alive and well." There is no news on what the injury is, and the decision to replace her with new Knockouts Champion Su Yung was made that afternoon. (Source: Fightful Select)
We say: This is a strange story that doesn't add up no matter how many times you go over the details. We're just glad she's okay, and maybe we'll find out more soon.
Note on Chad Gable's name change
The return to the Chad Gable name was apparently planned several weeks back. It had been in the works for a while, but kept getting cut from SmackDown due to time. The original plans reportedly involved Gable likely losing to Drew Gulak. (Source: Fightful Select)
We say: It's about time, and we wonder how far he's going to go with this new development. Realistically, though? Not very far, given WWE's track record of treating guys like Gable. Maybe he should've been shuttled back down to NXT.
