The Grapevine (10/19/20): Ronda Rousey Training, WWE Draft Note, AJ Styles

Ronda Rousey at WWE WrestleMania 35

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

    Ronda Rousey continues training

Ronda Rousey is continuing to train, presumably for her return to the WWE ring. Former Impact Wrestling, WWE, and NWA star James Storm posted a photo on Instagram with Rousey and her husband, MMA fighter Travis Browne. Rousey and Browne apparently invited Storm for what seemed to be a training session.

Rousey had been away from WWE since after WrestleMania 35. There is some speculation that she and WWE secretly agreed to a contract extension, as her original deal was to run until April 2021. (Source: Wrestling Inc.)

We say: Can't believe we're actually going to say this, but with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair gone, the company needs Ronda Rousey again. Of course, Charlotte will be back soon, but she and the rest of the (pro wrestling) Horsewomen need all the help they can get.

WWE wrestlers found out their draft statuses at the last minute

As with previous drafts, WWE talent did not know whether or not they were being drafted until FOX Sports put up the pools on their website. This lack of communication was a point of frustration for some talent. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: This isn't the first time this has happened, and we're never really sure why the company chooses to work their own employees this way. They're really the kings of treating employees terribly.

Performance Center recruit pitched to work with AJ Styles

There is apparently a pitch for tall Performance Center recruit Jordan Omogbehin to be an enforcer for AJ Styles. Omogbehin has appeared as the big ninja for Akira Tozawa and a RAW Underground bouncer. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: That means AJ Styles won't be turning face anytime soon. Not really sure if he needs this, but if the guy can get some exposure and experience learning from one of the best the WWE has right now, it's a good thing for Omogbehin.
