If you were looking for more signs of the Philippine pro wrestling scene gaining traction with the global wrestling community, the Manila Wrestling Federation has you covered.
At tonight's MWF Balikbayan show, Commissioner Mike Shannon revealed a video message from his Hong Kong-based associate William Elvin, in which he mentioned that HKWF star and former NXT talent Ho Ho Lun was interested in competing in the Philippines to find out if local wrestlers can hang with the first wrestler from Southeast Asia to go to the WWE.
The 30-year-old Ho Ho Lun gained global exposure thanks to his participation in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, while also making ripples in NXT, both in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and in singles competition. He's also a legitimate trailblazer who's responsible for setting up the Hong Kong pro wrestling scene.
Elvin announced that Ho Ho will be coming to Manila on December 9, the announced date of MWF's final show of the year.
This is certainly big news, mga ka-smarkada, and we'll keep you posted with details as they come.
