The Grapevine (8/31/16): Alberto Del Endo

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

Some big news coming out of yesterday's RAW, and a big developing story:

    • Alberto del Rio is apparently done with the WWE. He had voiced out frustrations with not being given things he was promised when he re-signed with the company last year, namely a main event push. All he was given was a failed Mex-America angle with Zeb Colter, the failed League of Nations stable with Sheamus, Wade Barrett, and Rusev, and a meandering status on SmackDown. It should also be noted that he had given notice weeks back, and was suspended for his first WWE Wellness Policy violation some time after he had given notice. No word on how this will affect girlfriend Paige's status with the company. He'll be free to work anywhere at the end of September. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: If Lucha Underground isn't having him back, EL PATRON TO NEW JAPAN PLEASE.

    • The ending of yesterday's RAW is apparently to set up Triple H vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 33. It was the original plan for this year's WrestleMania before Seth got his knee injury. For now it seems the imminent feud will be Rollins vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. (Source: F4WOnline)

We say: Sounds absolutely good to us. We've wanted this one since last year anyway.

Let us know what you think of today's news in the comments!
