The Grapevine (3/17/16): Roman's Road to WrestleMania

Good morning, and welcome to the daily Grapevine! Here is where we round up all the rumors, hearsay and tidbits of news from the wild world of professional wrestling that you may have missed over the night.

There's a couple of interesting news today, so let's get to it:

    • Could Snoop Dogg also be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year? Former WWE commentator Jim Ross noted on his Ross Report podcast that popular hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg may be this year's celebrity inductee. There are also rumors that the WWE may induct a Warrior Award recipient as well, but nothing has been formally announced yet. As it stands, the only inductee they have left to announce is puroresu legend Stan Hansen, whose induction was confirmed in a magazine promoting WrestleMania. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We Say: Honestly, Snoop isn't the first name that comes to mind when it comes to celebrity inductees, but he's been involved with the WWE from time to time. He hosted a RAW back in 2009, and even made an appearance last year with Hulk Hogan and Curtis Axel (who rapped better than Snoop in that segment). He's also the cousin of Sasha Banks, which brings up the possibility of him making more appearances in the future. Still, he's got a huge following, and wouldn't be a bad addition to the celebrity wing.

    • Roman Reigns may no longer be coming out through the crowd. According to this week's Smackdown tapings, Like on this week's RAW, Reigns once again came out via the ramp instead of his usual crowd entrance. Rumors are going around that it may have bee nixed as we head towards WrestleMania. (Source: Inquistr, WrestlingInc)

We say: While we can't read into this too much yet (maybe if it happens again next week), that's definitely an interesting change. Reigns has been doing the crowd entrance ever since he's been with the Shield, and one might even say that he's kept it a tad too long. There's some speculation here that it might be because they want to protect Reigns from the fans, especially given the reactions he's been getting as we head towards WrestleMania. Let's see what happens next week first, though.

    • Neville may be back sooner than expected. Yesterday, Dave Meltzer remarked that Neville's injury has a recovery period of 4-6 months, meaning that the Man that Gravity Forgot may be at risk of also missing Summerslam. However, further tests revealed that Neville's injury is not as bad as initially thought, and that he will no longer need surgery to heal his ankle. With the nonoperative treatment, Neville is now pegged at being out for just 2-3 months, which is half of the initial estimate mentioned yesterday. (Source: Cageside Seats)

We say: That's good news. Likewise, our message from yesterday still stands: get well soon, Neville!

What do you think, Henrinites? Will we see Snoop Dogg inducted this year? Will Roman Reigns really change his entrance? Let us know what you think!
