The Grapevine (6/8/22): Why Edge Was Kicked Out Of Judgment Day, Vince McMahon-Stephanie McMahon Update, Warner Bros. Discovery Not Happy With MJF

    Edge

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

Edge didn't approve of plans for Judgment Day

Edge was reportedly not on board with plans to make Judgment Day a supernatural group. While the initial plan really was to have Finn Balor join the stable, Edge had been adamant that the group not be supernatural, even responding to comparisons to the Undertaker. Edge will reportedly be moving forward as a babyface on RAW. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: So instead of honoring an actual legend's wishes, they go against all logic and make a haphazard move to remove him from the group. Even in Christian's reduced role in AEW, he seems to still be the one winning more.

Vince McMahon not behind Stephanie McMahon's leave of absence

Despite a previous report, Vince McMahon is not the person responsible for his daughter Stephanie McMahon's leave of absence from WWE. It was reportedly a decision she made herself. There are also reports of people near the top apparently burying her on her way out. (Source: F4WOnline)

We say: It doesn't seem to be a case similar to Shane McMahon, but it does give a glimpse of how the McMahons are seen in the company.

Warner Bros. Discovery orders AEW to remove MJF from promo material

Following his pipebomb on last week's Dynamite, Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of TBS, had reportedly ordered AEW to remove MJF from all its promotional materials and commercials. He is being edited out of all commercials on TBS and TNT as the Warner Bros. Discovery executives who were present at last week's Dynamite were apparently not happy with the promo. We say: Well, Tony Khan and MJF wanted to play with fire, so here's what they got. Let's hope this is the least of AEW's worries.
