Theme Song Tuesday: He's a Genetic Freak and He Knows It

You know, they say all theme songs are created equal but you look at Rex Stei—you know what... I'm not even gonna go there anymore. It's Tuesday. You know what that means. Time for another #ThemeSongTuesday, and this week, let's listen to the theme of one of NXT 2.0's rising stars, who came out of NXT Halloween Havoc 2021 a made man.

Most fans might have expected Bron Breakker to be NXT Champion and by now, and if it actually happened, I wouldn't have been mad at all. Dude's proven himself to be a star in his short time on TV to date, and based on how strongly he looked coming out of that main event match with Tommaso Ciampa, Breakker's going to be one of NXT's cornerstones going forward. I mean, it took several shots to the head, a DDT to the exposed concrete, and two Fairytale Endings to put him down for the three-count. That's gotta count for something.

It's also a nifty little coincidence that WWEMusic's YouTube channel has finally released Bron Breakker's theme in full. I'll let you listen to it first before I give my thoughts on it.

Tell me this dude's a Steiner without saying he's a Steiner, am I right?

Man, the sirens say it all. It's a catchy hook, it pays homage to his legendary uncle, Scott Steiner, and it also implies that this dude is not someone you'd want to mess with. Unfortunately, there really isn't much to say else to say about this track beyond the sirens.

I've generally liked def rebel's work ever since they became WWE's go-to music producer. "The Call"—which is the title of this track, by the way—doesn't really stand out from most wrestling entrance themes. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I heard this track as a generic Create-A-Wrestler theme in a WWE 2K game. It's just a couple of guitars going hard with a pretty basic drum beat. It's got no lyrics, no real break, and nothing extraordinary about it.

Look, I like Bron Breakker. I think I'm going to be a fan of his mic work, and I'm excited to see where his career goes from here. I just wish the dude had better entrance music. I mean, if def rebel was going to pay homage to Scott Steiner, they would've had so much material to base a song on! Just listen to Scott Steiner's theme, which he took with him from WCW to WWE to TNA:

Yes, Scott Steiner's theme is also just a loop. But this loop actually slaps! First of all, the sirens are there all throughout the track. Second, it may sound like late 90s or early 2000s techno, but at least it doesn't sound like a generic CAW theme. Scott Steiner's theme sounds like it should be playing in the background during the opening credits of a CSI: Insert City Here episode.

On the bright side, as we've come to know from the recent NXT callups on RAW and SmackDown, there's still time to repackage a Superstar and give them new entrance music as necessary. Here's to hoping Bron Breakker's actual family connections get mentioned on TV and that he gets a theme song befitting of a Steiner.
