The Grapevine (9/29/21): 2021 WWE Draft Update, NXT UK Looking To Bring Fans Back, AEW Taping Unannounced Match For Rampage

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

    2021 WWE Draft news

USA Network and FOX have been told about which top stars will be headed to the RAW and SmackDown brands, and some NXT stars will reportedly be part of the Draft. Other than that, and both top champions staying on their respective brands, however, nothing else has apparently been set in stone. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)

We say: Not having a long-term plan is not how you try to beat Dynamite in the ratings.

NXT UK looking to have fans back

After WWE just did a four-day UK tour last week, NXT UK is looking to have fans back in their tapings again. BT Sports, the owner of the studio in which NXT UK has been running from since their return last year, is reportedly lobbying to become the brand's permanent home with a live audience. We say: Yeah, it's about time fans were let back into NXT UK. It's just not the same, and since WWE can tour again they should be able to have a live crowd for NXT UK.

AEW taping unannounced match for this week's Rampage

AEW is reportedly taping a "big" unannounced match tomorrow for this Friday's Rampage. AEW shows are usually fully advertised in advance. The former Bray Wyatt is rumored to be making an appearance in this week's episode, which is emanating from Rochester, New York, the late Brodie Lee's hometown. (Source: Dave Meltzer)

We say: This is a really interesting development, as impromptu matches are commonly a WWE trick. AEW must have a good reason for doing this, and we can't wait to see what it is this weekend.
