The Grapevine (9/20/21): Bray Wyatt Update, Davey Boy Smith, Jr. Update

    Bray Wyatt

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

Bray Wyatt to reappear "very soon"

The former Bray Wyatt has hinted that everyone will see him again "very soon." He was released in July and still has a little over a month left on his 90-day no-compete clause, but it's also possible that that might have been waived. Impact Wrestling wants to sign Wyatt, but if he signs with AEW, presumably to become the new leader of the Dark Order, he may show up at next week's Dynamite in Rochester, New York, the late Brodie Lee's hometown. We say: This news is a little harder to verify considering we don't know the status of his 90-day no-compete clause, but we'd keep our eyes open next week all the same. AEW has been building up a story about the Dark Order and they don't build up for nothing.

    Davey Boy Smith, Jr. update

Davey Boy Smith, Jr., who was signed by WWE last July, has apparently yet to be assigned to a brand. He had not competed outside of a dark match around the time he confirmed his WWE signing. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: With how stacked both rosters are, we're not surprised that there's nothing much for Smith to do. We just hope he isn't released as a result of budget cuts before he even gets the chance to do anything.
