The Grapevine (4/21/21): WWE Apparently Dealing With Another COVID-19 Outbreak, Former RETRIBUTION Members Go To SmackDown

T-Bar, Mace, and MVP on WWE RAW

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

WWE apparently dealing with another COVID-19 outbreak

There seems to be another COVID-19 outbreak in WWE right now. This week's episode of RAW saw the red brand shorthanded again after some Superstars were kept off the show due to COVID precautions. It is still unclear who is not available or whether they have tested positive for the virus. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)

We say: It's all speculation at this point, but this week's episode of RAW did have a lot of the same people. COVID is an easy excuse to point to considering the current situation and the two-week waiting time. That, however, doesn't excuse the RAW team's lazy booking of the show.

Mia Yim and Shane Thorne moved to SmackDown

WWE has switched former RETRIBUTION stars Mia Yim (Reckoning) and Shane Thorne (Slapjack) from RAW to SmackDown. While RETRIBUTION has broken up, it is yet unclear whether Yim and Thorne will be reverting to their pre-RETRIBUTION characters from NXT. (Source: PWInsider, POST Wrestling)

We say: While this is already bad for RAW's apparent lack of depth, SmackDown definitely could use the extra bodies in the midcard. We can't wait to see whether both Yim and Thorne get roles on the roster.
