Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!
April NXT Takeover rumored to be two nights
There is a rumor going around that the WrestleMania week Takeover event will run for two nights. The Takeover is confirmed to be on Thursday, April 8, and WWE is considering doing it for two nights before the first night of WrestleMania on Saturday, April 10. (Source: PWInsider)
We say: If that would be the case, how would it affect SmackDown on Friday—assuming the second night of Takeover is on Friday? There's no need to change a system that works. Hold all the important matches on Takeover and then do the rest in the following week's episode.
Lacey Evans planned to win RAW Women's Championship before pregnancy
Lacey Evans, who is currently out on maternity leave, was reportedly planned to win the RAW Women's Championship from Asuka at Elimination Chamber before her pregnancy. The plan for WrestleMania was supposed to be Evans vs. Charlotte Flair for the title, but is now reportedly Asuka vs. Flair. (Source: Fightful Select)
We say: Things happen, and it's nobody's fault, nor is it a shame that it happened. All that's left for WWE to do is to adjust—plus nobody liked the story anyway, so it's really a blessing in disguise (in more ways than one).
