Vince McMahon isn’t exactly the most beloved figure in the wrestling world right now for the following reasons: firing a talent for contracting COVID-19, booking some horrible television, and somehow making more money than he needs to. The fact that WWE managed to get a deal with NBC’s Peacock, and net a lot of money continues to astound me.
On the bright side, if you want to show Vince what’s what, then you can do so with WWE 2K Battlegrounds.
The over-the-top arcade grappler will be adding WWE’s head honcho, along with an assortment of Legends and current-day Superstars. This is also the biggest WWE 2K Battlegrounds DLC update yet, as weekly Superstar distributions begin today and end on March 25.
From Vader and Big Boss Man to Mustafa Ali and Bo Dallas (where IS this guy?), here are the new Superstars coming to 2K Battlegrounds.

On the bright side, this update completes Lucha House Party by adding Gran Metalik. They've been killing it on RAW and NXT over the past few weeks, so I'm glad they got some money from this game. Mustafa Ali being available from the get-go is nice since he's always been a great talent and is trying his hardest to save this wretched Retribution angle. It's also nice seeing the late, great Vader again after he was cut from the WWE 2K20 roster, despite being around from WWE 2K16 to WWE 2K19. Then again, that game had bigger problems aside from its odd roster choices.
I’m one of the few people who thought WWE 2K Battlegrounds was a fine arcade beat-em-up that was plagued by microtransactions, and that thought hasn’t changed. While a number of the superstars are given away for free, the fact that some of them are locked behind such high paywalls can be maddening. Thankfully, the game has gone on sale a few times so if you’re down for some chibi WWE action or desperately want a good wrestling game on the Switch, pick this up when it’s cheaper.
