The Grapevine (1/22/21): Roman Reigns Working On New Theme Song, Ethan Page Dislikes Karate Man Segment, James Storm

Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Paul Heyman on WWE SmackDown

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

Roman Reigns working on new theme

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has revealed that he is working on a new theme song. This will be the last thing he will change about his persona, which he first modified in his return from a COVID-related sabbatical in SummerSlam 2020. (Source: Bleacher Report)

We say: Finally! Though we think we'd be okay if it was just the Shield theme slowed all the way down and with extra reverb. Can't wait to hear the new song.

More on Ethan Page disliking Karate Man segment

Ethan Page has gone on record to state that he highly disliked the Karate Man segment on Impact Wrestling's Hard to Kill PPV last Sunday. He apparently did not even want Karate Man to be introduced to Impact, but he was reportedly made to choose between doing Karate Man in Impact or splitting up the North, which he also didn't want. Page was not able to see the final cut of the match before it aired; the editing was his biggest issue with it. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: Yikes. Looks like Impact's not averse to somehow manipulate their talent as well. We look forward to where Ethan Page ends up next, at least.

James Storm not officially signed with Impact

Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion James Storm is not officially signed with Impact despite appearing on the show and further plans to appear on its programming. He was last seen on this week's episode of Impact! teaming with Chris Sabin against Private Party. It is unknown why he hasn't signed a deal with the company yet. (Source: Fightful Select)

We say: Probably wanted to keep his options open while maybe waiting for NWA to be able to run consistently again? It's not a bad idea to sign with Impact now that it's gaining a lot of momentum from the AEW partnership.
