The Grapevine (1/1/21): Why WWE Hasn't Done A Big Brodie Lee Tribute Yet, Seth Rollins Return Delayed

    Luke Harper in WWE SmackDown

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

Why WWE did not do a big Brodie Lee tribute

The reason for WWE's lack of a big Brodie Lee tribute on RAW and NXT this week was apparently the company respecting AEW in allowing them to do their special episode first. WWE has released a video compilation of various Superstars and personalities remembering Brodie, although there is no news on whether they have anything planned for SmackDown this week. We say: This should assuage any hurt feelings from people in the business. Although it's much easier to expect that Vince McMahon wouldn't really put that much effort into someone who's with the competition. SmackDown will be the test of whether they'll be doing anything big for Brodie.

    Seth Rollins's SmackDown return delayed

After being originally announced to make his return on this week's episode of SmackDown, Seth Rollins is now no longer being advertised for the show. All mentions and tweets announcing his return have been removed.

We say: Whatever it is, he deserves that time off, anyway, being a new father and all.
