This week's main event features the Curt Stallion and August Grey vs. Drake Maverick and Killian Dain. One of these things is not like the other, and while I appreciate the effort of featuring a solid NXT team (and throwing Drake Maverick back on 205 Live) did we really have to break the spirit of the purple brand by having a heavyweight on here?
It would have been so easy to shuffle some of the brackets around to accommodate for an all-cruiserweight round on 205 Live. But nevertheless, I'm not going to make a huge deal out of it. Good wrestling is good wrestling, and they gave us this. It wasn't mindblowing (it is just the first round, after all) and it shows us everyone's potential for a good match. I'll also lump in the Legado del Fantasma vs. Bollywood Boyz match here.
Women's wrestling on 205 Live
One other important thing is for the very first time, 205 Live will show women's wrestling as the women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is going to put on some matches on next week's episode. I feel like it's actually about time they did this, as most of the women on both rosters are below 205 lbs. I'd be open to extending the show back to an hour if they featured the NXT women's division, now that I think about it.
