Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the important founded and unfounded rumors floating around the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the past few days. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!
Ricochet shoots down departure rumors
Ricochet has stated he is not leaving WWE anytime soon. This follows a vague rumor from noted source @Wrestlevotes on Twitter stating that a certain WWE wrestler was not going to re-sign their contract. While no specific Superstar was named in the Wrestlevotes report, Ricochet's current deal with WWE may be up this January if it was good for three years.
But seriously, where the hell did these rumors start? I’ve never said once that I am leaving. To anyone! So for these “dirt sheets” out there.

Maybe facts check before you just blast some trash on your website for some clicks?
We say: It's likely not him (there's a whole host of other superstars it could be); the report was plain irresponsible by dropping the likelihood of a departure without even basing it on anything solid.
Rejected creative plans for the New Day
A rejected plan for the New Day would have been splitting them up across the two brands but still remaining together as a unit. Kofi Kingston would've been moved to RAW while Big E would stay on SmackDown, while Xavier Woods would have appeared on both shows to manage them separately upon his return. There's no word on why this idea did not push through, but it's been put on hold anyway as Kingston has been out with an ankle injury since July. (Source: @Wrestlevotes on Twitter)
We say: It's the Shield breakup without the actual breakup, and it would've certainly been interesting to see, considering they've done all they can as a team for the moment. Right now we're hoping for the Big E singles push to get somewhere.
AEW match ended up getting rough
Last Wednesday's match between Thunder Rosa and Ivelisse on Dynamite ended up getting a little stiff. Things reportedly broke down a little after Rosa apparently took issue with Ivelisse no-selling some spots. Thinking she was there to protect herself and the NWA, Rosa laid her strikes in more. Next week's tag team match between the team of Rosa and Hikaru Shida against Ivelisse and Diamante was not changed. (Source: Fightful Select)
We say: Normally we don't like running news like this, but it's an interesting story. It remains to be seen whether anyone gets punished for this, and it looks like the company is aware—we wouldn't be surprised if they were ready to milk the little spat for a quick ratings bump.
