The Grapevine (8/26/20): For He Is... Limited

Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

    • Keith Lee's new music apparently came about as a result of WWE urging talents to switch from their old CFO$ themes. The company does not have the same publishing deal with CFO$ as they do with former composer Jim Johnston, which is why many talents have gotten new themes from new WWE composers Def Rebel over the past year. It's being said, however, that some wrestlers don't like the new options. (Source: Fightful Select)
We say: It's still possible that new music gets made for him thanks to all the negative feedback, so keep your fingers crossed.
    • Stu Bennett is set to return to the WWE for a one-shot doing commentary on NXT this week. The former Wade Barrett had previously done commentary for WhatCulture Pro Wrestling, the revived World of Sport, and NWA Powerrr. It's not sure yet whether this would mean a full-time return to the company. (Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet)
We say: That's certainly an interesting name to float for the WWE, but you've got to feel bad for Nigel McGuinness, who isn't working for the company right now after a rumored furlough. Not that we hate Barrett, but why not just get Nigel back instead?
    • The stipulation for Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville at SummerSlam was changed because of Deville's current legal battles. Deville, who had been the victim of a planned kidnapping last week, was advised to not shave her head as she may have to appear in court. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)
We say: Nothing much to say here other than shame on this creep who is obviously not right in the head.
    • Cody's loss and beatdown at the hands of the Dark Order last Saturday on Dynamite was to write him off. Cody will apparently be selling the attack, and his time off also reportedly lines up with taping on the new Stephen Amell series Heels on Starz. (Source: PWInsider)
We say: That's one way to put the Dark Order over, which it sorely needed after Brodie Lee lost to Jn Moxley.
