Welcome to the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!
- There was reportedly a huge storyline WWE planned for this year that had to be scrapped. There is no word on what it was or who it would have involved, only that it would have been similar to the Nexus invasion or the Vince McMahon limousine explosion in scale, but it was apparently planned to unfold over several weeks heading into the summer. The lack of crowd reactions due to the empty arena shows WWE has had to do thanks to COVID-19 played a big factor in the postponement of this major angle. (Source: @Wrestlevotes on Twitter)
We say: Sounds interesting, but it will have to wait.
- Sting is apparently currently not in talks to work with AEW anytime soon. The legend, who is no longer under contract with WWE, was rumored to be the one to present the new TNT Championship at Double or Nothing on May 23. (Source: Wrestling Inc)
We say: While there's no reason to believe it isn't true, there's always a chance that this might be a swerve.
