The Hourrr of Powerrr (3/3/20): Shit Outta Luck

Mahalo, fellow Powerrr fans, it's been a while. The show took a break after Valentine's week and somehow I took an even longer break, but we're back. It's still a ways away from the Crockett Cup in April, so Powerrr has to shake things up in the middle of its current season—and boy, did they shake some things up all right.

Just when you thought the Stroke Daddy was going to make it all the way to seven successful retentions, Ricky Starks falls to the "Outlandish" Zicky Dice in what seems to be his second (or maybe third) try for the belt.

While I don't have a problem with Zicky as he's quite the character and the worker (and the babyface seems a lot better on the chase) they had something good going with Starks that I'm not sure they could replicate the exact same way with Dice. Good thing though is that, as I've mentioned previously, the guys are so good that they could pack in a lot in 6:05.

Other than that, non-main event feuds were highlighted in the episode, with Aldis and Scurll only getting a press conference that wasn't even quite like a press conference. Protip: if you're going to say you're doing a presscon, you might as well format it like one, even if it looks tiny.

We've got over a whole month left 'til the next PPV, so I hope they've got some more compelling content planned the rest of the way—this one is as filler as filler can get, and the show is already taking another break next week. I'm worried that the momentum Aldis and Scurll have could fizzle long before we could even get to their months-in-the-making match.

    The Powerrr Train

    • I'm glad that everyone thinks Joe Galli is a creep for wanting to hear Kamille speak, which she apparently will on the next episode (hoping she still doesn't). And I'm also glad they finally put her in the show's women's division, because I want to see the Brickhouse wreck some shit.
    • I know this is physically impossible, but Trevor Murdoch should be wrestling on every episode of this show.
    • For those who missed it last week, the Tim Storm/Mama Storm impersonator angle finally has a payoff when the impersonator Danny Deals finally took the wig off and sent Jax Dane after Storm. Not sure what the entire point of it all is, but it's something.
    • The Dawsons end up losing a loser-leaves-NWA match, which is certainly interesting for the big boys. Let's see where this goes and how it factors in to the tag team division.
