The Grapevine (5/31/19): All Moxed Out

Good morning, and this is the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the week. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

What is the fallout from Jon Moxley's monumental Talk is Jericho interview?

    • The feeling surrounding the Jon Moxley reveal on Talk is Jericho is that it's reflecting much of what the WWE roster reportedly feels. Many sources have apparently affirmed Moxley's issues with the WWE and Vince McMahon's creative process, and it's also rumored that many wrestlers have inquired about opportunities outside the company. It's also already been rumored and/or reported that a number of talents have either asked for their release or turned down new contracts. (Source: @WrestleVotes on Twitter, Wrestling Observer Radio, Wrestling Inc)
We say: It's a huge, huge mess, and this reckoning was a long time coming, there's no doubt about that, but we doubt things would really change unless one or both of two things happen: the fans stop watching, or a company-wide exodus occurs. Neither is likely to happen, especially with the pipeline of talent currently associated with the WWE around the world. Something has to change, but we don't expect it anytime soon. It's just a sad fact of the business.
    • No one is sure whether Sami Zayn's AEW shoutout on this week's RAW was scripted or not. There are sources saying it was scripted by Vince McMahon, while there are others saying it wasn't and Vince got angry over it. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)
We say: At this point, does it matter? We're all here talking about it, Sami Zayn and the WWE is getting buzz over it. It served its purpose.

Let us know what you think of today's news in the comments!
