The Grapevine (5/17/19): The Vince Problem

Good morning, and this is the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the week. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

How is Triple H doing these days?

    • Backstage sources claim Triple H is the "most frustrated person" on the roster lately. This is apparently due to the incohesive WWE product, in which Vince McMahon is changing a lot of things either on a whim or based on others' inputs. Triple H reportedly does his best to "console" talents who were called up from NXT, and the feeling is that this won't change anytime in the near future. (Source: WON)
We say: Well, isn't this the most obvious thing in the world? Something does need to happen, but the thing is we'll never know when that will happen at all. Business has to do really badly for there to be real change in the WWE system, putting quite a bit of pressure on companies like AEW and NJPW to do even better.
    • Braun Strowman is apparently injured, but that's not why he was pulled from the Money in the Bank ladder match this Sunday. No details yet on what the injury actually is, but he seems to be able to work through it. There is reportedly a long-term storyline in place for Strowman that involves being replaced in the Money in the Bank match, playing out over the next few months. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)
We say: Between this and the rumors of Vince changing his mind every now and then, what are the odds that he even gets to keep that long-term storyline? That's not looking good.

Let us know what you think of this week's news in the comments!
