#ThemeSongTuesday: All Hail the Queen of Spades

At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 this past weekend, Kairi Sane won the NXT Women's Championship from Shayna Baszler. I wrote yesterday that I was surprised to see Baszler lose the title, after having just won it at TakeOver: New Orleans. The bigger shock came to me when I saw this tweet from Twitter user Brian Schmid.

Yep. Shayna Baszler's NXT Women's Championship run is the shortest in history. Homegirl didn't even get to eclipse (heh) Ember Moon's title reign (ugh). That's a shame for the most badass female competitor on NXT since Asuka. And while the Queen of Spades was never my favorite in the Mae Young Classic or on the Black and Yellow Brand, this is as good a reason as any to feature her entrance theme this week.

Let's get this out of the way: Shayna Baszler comes out to one of the sickest entrance themes in wrestling today, full stop.

CFO$ produced an instrumental track entitled "Loyalty Is Everything," although it hasn't even been made clear what (or who) Baszler is loyal to through her arc on NXT so far. Hell, she hasn't even been blindsided or betrayed, so I really don't get why they didn't just name the track "Queen of Spades" or some shit. Stupid title aside, it really is worth a listen, so play this in the background while we break this track down.

The track opens with the sound of horses neighing and then galloping through a door—a clear homage to the Four Horsewomen of MMA, which Baszler is part of alongside Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke. And then, you have an introductory riff and drums kicking in for a solid half-minute until the main riff drops. Once it does, the guitars, bass, synths, and drums come together for one hell of a badass riff that really just gets you in the mood to beat someone the fuck up. It's the type of song you'd want to include into your workout playlist, especially when you're about to lift heavy. Or if you're really on one and just need to stew in your rage, this is the perfect track to listen to.

Everything goes hard, with the drums not relenting at all. It's like they started at third gear and never let up. The guitars aren't anything mind-blowing. I don't imagine them making the guitarists' fingers bleed the way John Frusciante's did in the making of the music video for "Give It Away." But coupled with the drums, they bring an aura of intensity that just makes you feel like you can conquer anything or anyone.

What's great about the song is that it stands on its own, even without lyrics, much like Brock Lesnar's theme does. It's not a repetitive mess that you'll get tired of after a minute or two, unlike the entrance themes of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Even more remarkable is the fact that this song works just as well for a male wrestler as it does for a female one. Not every entrance theme works like that, and that's what makes "Loyalty Is Everything" really special.

CFO$ managed to put together one hell of a track in Shayna Baszler's theme song. It's imposing and screams, "DANGER! YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET CHOKED OUT." It immediately establishes you as a badass; and it's totally fun listening to it over and over again. Now, if only they exerted the same amount of effort into the other entrance themes they produced.

What do you think about Shayna Baszler's entrance theme? Are there any other themes that are this badass in WWE or NXT?
