One Night At Ringside: WWE RAW Streaming Live On FOX+ Starting July 17

WWE RAW, I knew you’d come!

FOX+ recently invited members of the press, various influencers, and wrestling personalities to its official launch for their exclusive live streaming of WWE RAW. Yours truly, The Migz, was lucky enough to attend this launch held at Ringside Bar Makati to represent the Smark Henry crew, and oh, what a night it was.

During preparations, an all-WWE soundtrack could be heard blaring through the speakers as guests were allowed to take photos of the venue and also pose with a replica WWE Universal title belt before the show. The hosts announced a photo contest which could be won by posting on social media and using the hashtag #WWEonFoxPlus

The night kicked off with our favorite PWR announcer Poch Estrada inviting two-time PHX Champion Ken Warren into the ring for a quick interview. The two had a quick look back at Warren’s winover Mike Madrigal at PWR Live: RE5PETO in a Three Stages of Death match. The whole promo was smooth with Warren promoting PWR’s next event PWR Live: Way of the Champion until "The Senyorito" Jake De Leon arrived.

JDL and Warren proceeded to trade verbal barbs but not before JDL put Poch on his version of “The List” for not inviting him to this night’s event.

When it seemed like a fight was about to break out, JDL backed out as he wanted to call it a night so he could watch Monday Night RAW on Fox+. The PWR presence was great and added a lot to the wrestling-themed event. It also helped segue into the highlight of the night, which was the actual FOX+ announcement.

"Poch, you just made the list!"

The official program started at around 8 PM and was hosted by Sandro Hermoso and Smark Henry’s very own Stan Sy. The two talked about how FOX+ would be exclusively streaming WWE RAW live every Tuesday beginning on July 17, 8 AM, with the week’s episode being available to stream until the next one airs. As an added bonus, every Friday, subscribers would also be able to watch WWE weekly highlight shows such as Afterburn, Experience, and This Week.

They then brought out FOX Network Group Philippines’ General Manager & Senior Vice President, Jude Turcuato, to explain more about this endeavor.

    The night's hosts

Turcuato talked about how FOX+ wanted to look for programming that would be exclusive to their platform. In his words, What is it, the best kind of entertainment na malalagay sa FOX+? And ang naisip lang namin is really WWE and RAW.”

He also mentioned that FOX would be looking into bringing more of the WWE shows and properties, depending on the support for FOX+. So show your love for the product, people! The crowd erupted at the tease of possibly bringing SmackDown Live!, NXT and (maybe) even pay-per-views.

Aubrey Miles, Troy Montero, DJ Suzy of Magic 89.9, and Eric "Eruption" Tai (who could actually pass as a wrestler himself) were also present to endorse WWE programming. These four influencers have been lifelong WWE fans, with them being elated that RAW would now be available on FOX+ at the same time it airs in the U.S.

The four then started to share their personal favorites in WWE history before taking a picture with Turcuato—WWE Universal Championship in hand, of course.

Before the show ended, my (personal) favorite part came up: WWE Quiz Night! Each team was partnered with a PWR wrestler for a chance to win WWE merchandise and a cash prize. Our team had current All Out War Champion Alexander Belmonte III as our resident wrestling expert. Sad to say, we didn’t win but, hey, guess who won? It was PWR Champion Ralph Imabayashi’s team.

The program concluded with the hosts announcing that our very own Nicole Le Saux won the night’s photo contest and would be taking home a loot bag filled with WWE goodies (Nicole, can we please have some?). All in all, we’re very excited for this deal and we at the Smark Henry Offices can’t wait to watch all WWE-related programming on FOX+.

Who's excited for WWE Raw on FOX+? What do you think about bringing other WWE content to the platform? Which shows would you like to see next?
