    #SGQ: Way of the Fashion

Yours truly recently had the chance to watch PWR Live: Way of the Champion (see my review if you haven’t yet) from the Power Mac Center in Makati and after seeing almost everybody debut new gear, I felt compelled to write another #SGQ for this occasion.

As your resident fashionista, I will only note attires which have caught my attention for reasons I will further explain in each segment. These do not necessarily have to be new or even permanent attires, they just have to be attention-grabbing.

    The Rabid Panzer-ine

First match and we get to see Chris Panzer in his (probably) Benoit-inspired tights. This may or may  not have been used in past events.

I could get behind this because it gives Panzer the “I’m serious. I’m gonna kick your ass.” look that he should exude.

    Bro! Bro! Bro!

The Kakaibros just debuted new merch and it’s “m4iN3t”! (That’s “hot” or “mainit” if you don’t speak their language.)

One look, and all I can say is Daniel Bryan meets Zack Ryder. Such an awesome shirt, bro. 45ti6! (Astig!)

    SANDATA used Splash

SANDATA was in his red (or was it really orange?) gear for this event but the crowd instantly turned on his attire because of the similarities to a certain fish-type cartoon monster.

If I’m not mistaken, it was one of our smarky Smark Henry columnists who started heckling the attire by insinuating that he was, in fact, a doppelganger of the Pokemon Magikarp.

Sorry, SANDATA, this was inevitable. Congratulations to the PWR fans, I am really amazed at the eye for detail and witticism.

    Bikini Bottom

Kap Tutan and his red briefs–‘Nuff said!

    Camus Zayn

If it wasn’t obvious yet, Camus is a very big Sami Zayn fan. Just look at the man, the gear, the moves. Total local generic package.

Seeing Camus show shades of the character just shows how much he loves the biz and, uh, Zayn. I feel this is a great tribute to Zayn (Face Zayn, and not Heel Zayn, that is.)

    He’s Not A (Toy Boy)

TDTxECX (Trian Dela Torre and Evan Carleaux) were just scheduled to do the first ever live Carleaux Sheaux but at least Carleaux had his wrestling tights ready. Trian on the other hand–not so much.

Thrown into a match by John Sebastian, Trian gamely removed his checkered shorts and flaunted his sexiness in what could probably be called the skimpiest stretchy jean shorts you could imagine.

As I previously said in my review, move over Shawn Michaels, Trian’s your sexy boy and he’s not your boy toy.

Ken Warren and his crazy gray hashtag-filled tights describes how I feel about math and numbers in general. I like it yet I hate it.

The gray tights were great to see on him but the hashtag designs (coupled with some dots and small strokes) made me feel like it was a weird combination.

I say, keep the gray tights but fix the design.

Of Pete Dunne and Street Basketball

Ralph Imabayashi always wows me with his fur coat. It makes him look smug (which he should be) and legit (which he is). Pete Dunne gives me the same feelers when he wears the fur. That is why it took me a lot of rationalizing and thinking on why Ralph would wear very regular looking black shorts as his ring gear.

I’ve come to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, as part of the story he’s telling, he wore the simplest of attires just to show the flashy Koto Hiro that he was dead serious (The attire in itself was very street.)

What did you guys think of the attires? Were there anything else that caught your attention? Did you agree with the list? Sound off in the comments section below.
