    The Grapevine (6/22/18): Big Ass

Good morning, and this is the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

Here's everything we know about Big Cass's release:

    • WWE was reportedly very unhappy with Big Cass, causing his firing earlier this week. It's being said that Vince McMahon did it himself in a meeting, and this heat was why he did not get the "best wishes in his future endeavors" line. There were many factors going into his heat, including his being vocal about his booking, a segment on the May 1st episode of SmackDown Live in which he went against a directive in his promo with a little person Daniel Bryan impersonator. There was also an incident in which he skipped a rehearsal for another promo on SmackDown, and then him doing the promo longer than necessary on the episode.

There's also another incident involving the bus on the European tour this year, in which he broke down the bus's bathroom door after he got stuck inside, believing he was being ribbed. This resulted in damages that the company had to cover. (Source: WON)
We say: That and being a proud Trump defender? Happy trails, Big Ass.
    • WWE may have a new working relationship with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. Hideo Itami is getting the chance to work with his former company in an event on August 29, as well as possibly for NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji 20th anniversary event on September 1. It's still unclear as to whether this is a full relationship or a one-off deal for Itami and NOAH. The relationship between Impact Wrestling and NOAH has ended recently, and it has been decades since WWE has actively worked with a Japanese company. (Source: WON)
We say: This may just break the wrestling internet if it is true they're working with a Japanese company, NOAH or otherwise. Let's make all the connections happen!
    • WWE is set to have a huge announcement on women's wrestling soon, according to Triple H. It's not yet sure what that may be exactly, but Triple H and Shawn Michaels spoke to Give Me Sport in the UK about it, in which Shawn said that an "all-women's pay-per-view or event is not too far away at all." The second Mae Young Classic is due to tape sometime in early August this year. (Source: Give Me Sport, Wrestling Inc)
We say: Let's have that all-women brand. Women's wrestling is having a huge boom in the indies right now and the company would be stupid not to capitalize on it.
