PWR Star Crystal Set To Debut For Asian Super-Promotion AWE

Watch out, Southeast Asia. The self-declared Queen of Philippine Wrestling is setting her sights on regional domination.

Fresh off a pair of heartbreakingly-close attempts to become Southeast Asia's Queen of Wrestling in Singapore, Philippine Wrestling Revolution (PWR) star Crystal will finally be making her debut for Asian super-promotion Asia Wrestling Entertainment (AWE) at AWE: Carnage this January 20.

If she thinks she'll be in for a cakewalk though, she's sorely mistaken. A couple of dangerous foes will be standing across the ring from her in this Triple Threat clash.

First up is the dangerous Niki Nitro, an nine-year vet who's dazzled crowds all across the US and Australia, picking up championships left and right. Armed with her lethal Nitro-Glycerine Stunner, the "Heartbreaker Heel" is possibly going to present the most polished challenge Crystal has ever faced.

But don't sleep on Nor "Phoenix" Diana. Malaysia's first masked woman wrestler is red-hot after her scintillating international debut win at AWE: Adventus against the talented Shazza McKenzie, herself a decorated talent who's seen action against some of the finest woman wrestlers in the region.

We're pretty sure Crystal takes offense with Diana's billing as AWE's premier woman wrestler, and should be out to establish herself as the alpha female in this part of the globe.

With this third international match under her belt after two matches with Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW), Crystal will easily be the most-traveled PWR product yet—an opportunity she doesn't take lightly.

"I'm thankful to these promotions," she told Smark Henry in an exclusive statement. "I'm thankful that they see potential in me."

Preparing for life as a regional grappler is something she clearly takes seriously, having trained with her Singapore peers in July and again in Malaysia last September. But despite this, she knows she's in for an uphill battle.

"Competing abroad is always a different experience," she muses. "People have different styles and levels of experience. I've only competed twice! These ladies have more international matches under their belts than me."

But ever the optimist, Crystal acknowledges a silver  lining  in her relative inexperience.

"The only advantage for me is that people haven't seen much of me," she reveals candidly. "I can still shock them with what I've got."

If Crystal can overcome these two headliners, 2018 could quite possibly be a banner year for the Filipino Femme Fatale, who's also on a collision course with fellow PWR woman wrestler Robynn in a quest to avenge her loss from last year.

What legacy in the Southeast Asian wrestling scene is she after?

"To be the real queen," she answers without batting an eyelash. "I've represented Philippine wrestling in Singapore already. I think its time to show the world what a Filipina wrestler can do."

    Amen to that, sister.
