I’m trying really hard to find enough strength to lift my fingers up just so I could type out this article. I’m dragging them. Unlike the previous weeks, no match or segment was hyped for this week, so I don’t think anybody was excited to watch. I sure wasn’t!
We’ve had this pattern, though, for a couple of weeks that made RAW the show to watch over SmackDown Live. They were making a comeback creatively and it made a loyal RAW fan like me feel very relieved. But then this week’s episode came, and I actually decided to close my laptop and get more sleep midway through. As I watched the other half later that night, I didn’t feel any better about it, either!

For one, they did announce an explosive
It wouldn’t have made a lot of sense for Lesnar to go out and interfere in the match even though he was backstage, because it wouldn’t have been smart on his part. So that was fine. I also liked how much Joe kept a count on his wins against Reigns only for the Big Dog to shit all over that. Samoa Joe is now more vulnerable and it evens the odds even more for SummerSlam. This match was a good match, nonetheless, and the violent part of me was satisfied seeing them try to kill each other.
The real main event, though, sucked ass. Am I allowed to write that here? Well, I just did. What the hell was that? And why was it in the time slot it was in? Are you kidding?! The crowd was so dead for this match; I actually believe people probably left. Okay, maybe not, but they were probably on their phones or something. No one was just paying attention, okay? Nobody cares. A match like that is supposed to be hyped and reserved for a pay-per-view. That’s how you get people to want to watch it. I don’t understand why RAW loves to do this. It doesn’t benefit anyone! I’M NOT MAD, YOU’RE MAD!
Okay, now that I counted to ten and not mad anymore, I just think the feud needs much more drama and hype. It’s the same formula every single week: Enzo gets knocked out, Big Show helps out Enzo. And then that’s literally it. I think if there was a way to make Cass talk more, or even make Big Show talk more, or perhaps even add a stipulation to their match—something to make the people hold on to this feud, it would all turn out okay in time for SummerSlam.

Switching gears, Jason Jordan guests on—hah, yes, another—MizTV and comes out on top. Miz starts telling him that he isn’t earning anything he gets with the General Manager for a dad. There is now a clear direction for Jordan: he’s officially babyface and will be after the Intercontinental Championship. I don’t have much to say here. Jason Jordan just needs to work on projecting his emotions more instead of looking like a robot. And that’s my only concern anyway. I’m feeling a little indifferent, but I’m really glad Jordan will be getting this opportunity to work and practice with the nastiest heel on RAW. Who better than to bring out what you can do as a babyface than The Miz?
I think it’s safe to say that the best thing on RAW at the moment is the Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins reunion angle. I know I’ve said this in previous articles, but it’s just so fresh, so new, and so real. There was a backstage segment between them where Ambrose talks about not wanting to get burned twice by the same flame. It doesn’t help that Rollins’ new shirt says “Burn It Down”, silly merch people.
Everybody makes mistakes, even former WWE Heavyweight Champions. Seth Rollins is deep in a hole he dug himself in, and realizes he wants to get out of it. So now, week after week, we witness how Rollins struggles to make up for what he did, as it makes the audience genuinely debate about second chances and the ability for people to change. There is no right or wrong answer to it; it all depends on the outcome the audience wants to see happen. It’s the exact debate that goes through Ambrose’s mind, except he’s the type of guy wired to immediately cut off anybody who does him wrong and be done with it forever. So as we’re understanding Ambrose’s side completely, we can’t help but feel sympathy for Rollins who tries really hard, but still gets shut down after. The emotions they bring are so real and can make anyone relate to their characters. It genuinely looks like Rollins needs a hug, and, I mean, I guess I’d volunteer. He can hug me for as long as he likes, until he feels better.
While Rollins was getting double-teamed by Cesaro and Sheamus, they hinted that Ambrose actually still has a heart deep down when he came out to help his ex-buddy. They both now have a common enemy, which will help glue their relationship together and give them a reason to stick together. Isn’t it so sweet?! Nakakakilig sila.
The rest of the show made me want to take a nap instead, so this week was quite a bad episode. We didn’t move any forward with anything, except for maybe the Universal Championship and the Intercontinental Championship pictures. But, just a bit. And that was all they gave us through a three-hour production!
Quick Hitters:
- Elias Samson is now known as just Elias. No last name. What do they have against last names? Who are you, Cher?!
- Bayley was clearly injured and it doesn’t look too good. Now, the question is, do you think Sasha Banks is happy because she’ll most likely get that shot at the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, or, is she upset because her best friend got injured? What kind of person do you think Sasha is in real life? Discuss.
- YES, FINALLY, THE HARDYS WIN! And we got a little diving action from Jeff. Thank you, Creative. They needed that.
- Bray Wyatt did that annoying thing where he says weird stuff again.
- There is something that makes me swoon whenever I see Renee Young interview Dean Ambrose. Don’t you see the sparkle in her eyes? You see it, too, right? RIGHT?! Ah, love.
