Triple Championship Main Event Set For PWR #UnFathersDay Show At Eastwood

We all know that dad that refuses to grow up and start adulting. Whether it's rocking a bigger action figure collection than his own sons, keeping his own Xbox-powered man-cave for video game nights, or nurturing the comic book collection he started when he was 12, it's not surprising to see this generation of man-children hanging on to the things they treasured when they were young.

For these dads who never grew up, Eastwood City is bringing a one-of-a-kind Father's Day celebration called #UnFathersDay this June 17 to 18! It's all about letting dads take a break from daddy duties with a variety of activities scattered throughout the retail complex on Libis. Here's what they've got lined up:

June 12 to 25 | Eastwood Mall Atrium
    • Hot Wheels Toy Exhibition

    June 14 to 18 | Eastwood City Walk 2
    • Archery Workshop with Kodanda Archery

June 17 to 18 | Eastwood Mall Open Park
    • Virtual Reality Dome
    • Cosplayers Meet and Greet: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Display

June 18 | Eastwood Mall Open Park

    • Live Wrestling Matches feat. Philippine Wrestling Revolution
    • Beer Exhibit and Bar Flairing Show
    • Dad’s Day After-Party

Obviously, it's the promise of live wrestling in a decidedly mainstream venue on Sunday, June 18, that excites us most here at Smark Henry.

The Philippine Wrestling Revolution is clearly pulling out all the stops in this rare opportunity as one of the featured attractions for #UnFathersDay, putting on a promising triple main event featuring all the gold in the company.

Even with the Renaissance 2017 supershow happening the weekend after, it's heart-warming to see that the company isn't coasting in its battle to grow the Philippine pro wrestling scene.

PWR Championship Match: "Beautiful" Billy Suede vs. Chris Panzer (c)

PWR Champion Chris Panzer could have settled for a simple tune-up match ahead of his Triple Threat title defense, but instead is squaring off against the dangerous Fil-Canadian star "Beautiful" Billy Suede.

Suede is a former NWA Canadian Junior Heavyweight Champion with the experience of over a decade on the international scene, and could throw the whole Renaissance main event into disarray if he succeeds in stealing the gold from Panzer. The last time we saw him, he was tapping out in humiliating fashion in the middle of a PWR ring, and could be looking to get some revenge against the local scene by snatching away its highest prize.

Can the popular "Papa" of PWR soften up Suede enough to cement the three-count with his soaring Eagle Splash, or will the Beautiful One shock the Revo-Nation with an out-of-nowhere title win one week out from Renaissance? This is a match even casual fans will have to see.

PWR Tag Team Championship: The Network (James "Idol" Martinez & Alexander Belmonte III) vs. The YOLO Twins (Yohann & Logan Ollores, c)

PWR Tag Team Champions the YOLO Twins (Yohann & Logan Ollores) similarly have a big hurdle on their road to Renaissance, taking on the always-formidable Network led by James "Idol" Martinez and his top henchman, the burly Alexander Belmonte III.

This is a chance for Martinez to prove there is no dissension in the ranks, and an exciting opportunity to strut into his own Renaissance six-man tag match with the tag team gold against the Ollores siblings and their mentor Ken Warren.

The twins, on the other hand, know that this is going to be the biggest stage they'll get to perform on to date, and will be tapping their life-long chemistry to hopefully ensnare their foes with a thunderous Two Night Stand for the win.

PHX Championship: Jake De Leon vs. "The Golden Boy" Chino Guinto (c)

And speaking of dissension within the Network, top downline and reigning PHX Champion "The Golden Boy" Chino Guinto could be in for the first signature title defense in his young reign, with two-time PWR Champion and recent Reddit poster boy Jake De Leon stepping up to the plate against him.

Guinto has scored a pinfall against JDL below in a Path of Gold match, but can he do it in a straight-up one-on-one match? We don't know, but we believe in the Golden Boy and the Senyorito to steal the show with a true classic.

Tons of other PWR stars will be in action as well, so if you haven't caught a show in a while, or have yet to be inducted into the red-hot local pro wrestling scene, come on over to Eastwood and see what you've been missing out on!

What other matches do you hope to see at #UnFathersDay, Revo-Nation? Do you think we'll be seeing any title changes that will screw up the planned Renaissance card? Let us know your thoughts down low, and we'll see you at the show!

The PWR #UnFathersDay show is happening on Sunday, June 18, at the Eastwood Mall Open Park. Admission is free. Bell rings at 5 PM.
