    The Grapevine (1/20/17): BRAUN

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

The odds on the most unpredictable Royal Rumble match in recent history have changed:

    • Betting odds now have Braun Strowman favored to win the Royal Rumble. Before this, the Sky Bet odds had Undertaker winning. Following them now in third, fourth, and fifth places are Randy Orton, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe. Neither Balor nor Joe have been confirmed or even rumored to be surprise entrants in the match so far. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: Even though we still don't see a clear, sure winner, Braun makes a lot of sense considering where the cards look like they're falling for WrestleMania. We're cool with this.

    • There are new WWE Intercontinental and United States Championship belts in the works. Da Belt Guy on Reddit claims that WWE is looking to change the design of both championships, and most importantly, they won't be mere copies of the WWE Championship. He's the same guy who broke the news on the WWE Universal Championship's design. (Source: Reddit)

We say: Oh, boy. There's not that much reason to worry given the recent wonderful releases, such as the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, the new Cruiserweight Championship, and the United Kingdom Championship, but there's just too much tradition steeped into the Intercontinental and US titles. (The US title has kept its main design since it was revived in 2003, and it's pretty iconic.) These redesigns better be really, really good.

Let us know what you think of today's news in the comments!
