WWE RAW Results (7/18/16): Rough Drafts

Monday night in Providence, on the eve of the WWE Draft, we got new General Managers, a huge 12-man tag match, and a WWE Title bout ends in bedlam less than a week before Battleground!

Mick on Mondays, Bryan on blue brand

As instructed by their father Vince last week, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon named their respective General Managers to run the shows every week.

Stephanie's choice? The 3-time WWE Champion Mick Foley! Shane's pick? Four-time World Champion Daniel Bryan! Both underdogs, both fan favorites, both competitive, and both prepared to lead their shows to greater heights.

Steph also announced that the Cruiserweight Division will return, and will be exclusive to RAW!

    Who's the WWE Champion?

Harking back to their Shield days in two separate promos, Seth Rollins and WWE Champion Dean Ambrose told the world that they'll walk out of Battleground the WWE Champion.

Who's going into the PPV as champ, though, is another question, as Ambrose and Rollins faced each other before their Triple Threat debacle on Sunday.

After a superplex off the top rope, both men went for the pin. The ref counted 3, but both men's shoulders were down! Who's the champ?!?

Steph declared it was Rollins, but Shane reversed it, calling the match a draw! #AndStill, the WWE Champion, Dean Ambrose!

As the last RAW before Tuesday's Draft faded to black, the champ left a parting gift to Rollins:

    12-man mayhem

RAW became a battleground of its own when John Cena, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, and WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day faced The Club and The Wyatt Family.

Back and forth they went, until the tag champs and the Wyatts brawled to the back. Later, AJ ducked Enzo's clothesline attempt, which hit Cena instead! One roll-up later, and AJ brings home the victory! Will this misstep affect Cena, Enzo and Big Cass' teamwork at Battleground?

    More tag team action

    * Sami Zayn and Cesaro picks up a victory against Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho.

    * Meanwhile, Dana Brooke and WWE Women's Champion Charlotte versus Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch went to a no contest, when Natalya went after Becky and took her out of the match! As a result, she gets taken out as Sasha's tag partner at Battleground!

Charlotte and Dana then decimated the Boss, sending a message to Sasha's mystery partner come Sunday.

    * Ahead of a US Title defense at Battleground, Rusev teamed up with Sheamus to defeat Dolph Ziggler and Rusev's challenger Zack Ryder.

    The rest of RAW

    * Intercontinental Champion The Miz hoped to cost Darren Young his match against Alberto del Rio, but it was Del Rio that got distracted. Would DY's 2nd win in as many weeks lead to an IC Title reign?

    * Baron Corbin laid waste to Sin Cara, then to Kalisto when he came to his now ex-partner's aid.
