    The 2016 Henries: Part 3

Hello, and this is the last part of our 2016 Midyear Awards, AKA the Henries! If you missed the first two parts of the Henries, you can check them out here and here. This final third will have all the big awards for the midyear, so what are we waiting for? Let's get right to it!

    Match of the Midyear

Honestly, did you expect anything less?

If you must watch Takeover: Dallas for one thing, we guarantee you that it will and should be for this. The two men's first meeting was a showcase of why they are two of the best wrestlers in the world right now, even if they don't have ideal wrestler bodies, even if they're not the most fiery on the microphone, even if they're not the biggest draws of the WWE. We're not calling on them to #FightForever, but we will suggest they #FightOften.

    Promo of the Midyear

CM Punk's Pipebomb promo may not have been the first of its kind, but it did start the revolutionary trend of addressing internet rumors and turning them into kayfabe storylines in the Reality Era. AJ Styles and the Club displayed a sober sense of self-awareness in this promo leading up to his first match with John Cena, spewing claims fans believe are true just because of where they read them. Whether or not they are true, however, one thing's clear—AJ's sentiments against the machinery definitely resonated, and resonance is one of the most important things a great promo needs.

    Female Wrestler of the Midyear

The new longest-reigning Women's Champion and the surefire face of the remodeled division, it's hard to take away Charlotte's accomplishments. It's difficult not to consider her skill level vis-a-vis her number of years in the business, and even though she doesn't always have the best matches among the ladies, that in itself is a good reason why Charlotte is the Female Wrestler of the Midyear. (And a pretty long Sasha Banks injury.)

    Male Wrestler of the Midyear

The only man to wrestle in the two biggest promotions in the world this year, 39-year-old workhorse AJ Styles has finally landed in WWE, immediately proving to one Vincent Kennedy McMahon why he missed out on signing a huge star 10 years ago. From his debut at the Royal Rumble to his main event matches with Roman Reigns to going toe-to-toe with none other than John Cena, now the whole world finally knows why AJ Styles is the first ever Rookie of the Midyear and Male Wrestler of the Midyear winner in Henries history. (Unbelievable, right?)

And that's it for this year's Henries! Do you agree? Disagree? Who should have won? Let us know what you think in the comments!
