WATCH: Full Opening Ceremonies for the WWE Cruiserweight Classic

In its early days, mixed martial arts sold itself as a combat sport with the unique premise of settling the age-old argument of which fighting discipline—whether pure boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, or what-have-you—was the best. It's the same premise in such video games as the Street Fighter series, which, at the heart of it, is a discipline-against-discipline slobberknocker larger than any single character.

Zangief vs. E. Honda: Technically MMA.

These are exactly the kind of stakes in the WWE's hotly-anticipated Cruiserweight Classic, which just concluded its first set of tapings for its field of the 32 best cruiserweights in the world, assembling such diverse styles as catch wrestling, muay thai, lucha libre, and the American indies, just to name a few.

Triple H himself is beaming like a proud father over the project, his purported brainchild, tweeting the following:

While Filipino wrestling fans are salivating most about TJ Perkins repping the Philippine flag throughout the tournament, it's impossible not to mark out over the sheer volume of talent represented. The WWE finally posted the full opening ceremonies online, giving each of the competitors their respective 30 seconds to shine in front of the Full Sail crowd.

    Check it out.

As early as now, you can tell that three men seem to be the most popular among the crowd based on reputation alone: Zack Sabre Jr., Kota Ibushi, and Johnny Gargano.

Even the commentator team is  going to be a joy for intelligent wrestling fans, with the beloved Daniel Bryan being announced to add color to the pairing of Mauro Ranallo and Corey Graves. The pure glee of Bryan and Ranallo geeking out during each wrestler's entrance in the clip above is enough to assure us of the respect and gravity the WWE will be handling this first-of-its-kind tournament.

Stay tuned for the next big milestones in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, Henrinites, exclusively on the WWE Network:

    • July 13, 2016: The premier episode of the CWC itself, and every Wednesday night in the US thereafter following NXT.

Who you got your money on, Henrinites? Do you think Daniel Bryan's prediction of a Brian Kendrick victory has any hope of happening? Or do you like the chances of an Ibushi-ZSJ finals instead? Let us know in the comments below!
