The NXT Grapevine: After The End

    The End?

Nah, that was just a label. NXT just taped the rest of its June episodes, and we've got a rundown of what happened below!

As usual, there will be SPOILERS here, so turn back now or else be damned.

    June 15:

    • The Authors of Pain (Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani) w/ Paul Ellering def. a pair of local talents
    • Carmella def. Tessa Blanchard
    • TM61 (Shane Thorne and Nick Miller) def. Blake and Murphy
    • Andrade "Cien" Almas def. Tye Dillinger in a rematch from NXT Takeover: The End
    • Finn Balor came out and cut a promo, but is interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura. Balor vs. Nakamura is set up for a later date.

Thoughts: The battle of ex-NJPW standouts is ON! We don't know if it will be for NXT or for the next Takeover (which is in August), but it'll be must-see either way.

    June 22:

    • Ember Moon (formerly Adrien Reese/Athena) def. former Tough Enough competitor Mandy Rose
    • Oney Lorcan (formerly Christopher Girard/Biff Busick) def. Tye Dillinger
    • No Way Jose def. Josh Woods. Austin Aries came out afterwards and celebrated with Jose for a bit, but beat him down afterwards.
    • Bayley def. Deonna Purrazzo
    • Nia Jax def. Liv Morgan
    • Alexa Bliss def. Carmella

Thoughts: No Way Jose vs. Austin Aries seems to be an interesting feud to go for, and is certainly one few would've expected. Also, the NXT Name Generator strikes again with Oney Lorcan, although Ember Moon sounds more like it came from TNA.

    June 29:

    • Andrade "Cien" Almas def. Noah Kekoa
    • Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa def. the Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley). Afterwards, Gargano and Ciampa ask for a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships but are interrupted by American Alpha, who says they are first in line. The Revival then came out and said that neither team should get a shot.
    • NXT GM William Regal came out and announced The Revival vs. American Alpha in a 2-out-of-3 falls match on NXT TV. The Authors of Pain then attacked Gargano, Ciampa and American Alpha.
    • NXT Champion Samoa Joe def. Oney Lorcan

Thoughts: American Alpha vs. Revival one more time? Considering the show these guys put on yesterday, that's going to be amazing. Also, it's remarkable how deep the tag team division has gotten over the past year or so.

NXT's next live event is NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, which happens on August 20. Expect at least one more set of tapings before that, so we'll be back with another edition of this Grapevine soon enough. It's also worth noting that the WWE's brand extension is going to take place in July, so between now and the next Takeover we may be seeing a lot of talent move up from NXT and new faces to take their place.

In the meantime, what do you think of the upcoming episodes of NXT? Are you excited to see them air? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
