The Grapevine (6/2/16): The Boss Doesn't Seem To Like The Bo$$

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

We have an interesting tidbit on Sasha Banks:

    • Vince McMahon apparently feels that Sasha Banks is injury-prone and "only knows one speed." If anyone's wondering why Sasha hadn't been on TV lately, it's because she suffered a concussion at a live event back on May 15 after referee Darrick Moore accidentally struck Sasha in the head with his knee. Sasha had been denying anything was wrong with her, but now apparently Vince is comparing her to Daniel Bryan, and not in a good way. Also, Vince thinks Sasha only knows how to go all out. (Source: WON)

We say: Allow us to break down Vince's speed comments for you: if you only know how to go all out, soon that all-out fire isn't going to be special. Wrestlers will need to know how to really go slow so the crowd can get hyped up for sequences in which they go, well, all out. Some of us have noted that she doesn't change gears much.

Meanwhile, the injury-prone sentiments are a little petty. We do understand that you wouldn't want to invest heavily in someone who won't pay that many dividends, but at this point you're trying to blame people for something nobody even knows how to train their body to avoid. You can strengthen your knees and leg muscles to avoid an ACL/MCL tear, and you can try to train your neck to avoid concussions, but when a concussion can happen at even the slightest provocation, no matter your best intentions, isn't that unfair discrimination?

    • There might be two sets of Tag Team Championships after the brand split. There is apparently enough tag team talent to fill two divisions. Meanwhile, Vince is apparently close to giving up on the Shining Stars, but is pretty high on Breezango. (Source: Daily Wrestling News)

We say: Jesus, just have them be the Puerto Rican Roppongi Vice. They're that good anyway, and they'll get over. Also, the issue is not having enough teams for two divisions, but booking all of them well.

    • American Alpha were supposed to be called up to the main roster later this year. Their ETA would've been around third quarter of the year, but the plan is now unsure thanks to the brand extension. (Source: WON)

We say: Looks like it's good news either way. We'd want the AA to dominate NXT a little more, but dominant anything's going to get boring after a while. Can't wait for them to mix it up on the main roster.

Let us know what you think of today's rumors in the comments!
