The Grapevine (3/16/16): Legends of WrestleMania 32

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This is where we round up the most interesting rumors and news happening in the wild world of wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

We're almost two weeks away from WrestleMania, and the old-timers are catching up:

    • Other than the Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels will have special roles at WrestleMania 32. Rumors about their involvement have been going around for over a month, but what they'll be doing is still unconfirmed. Shawn was said to be considered as the special referee for Triple H vs. Roman Reigns, but with two weeks left and no developments made on that front, it seems like that plan is falling through. Meanwhile, whatever the Rock will be doing is on his own terms, as he apparently still hasn't told WWE officials about his actual plans for the show. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)

We say: Everything about this WrestleMania just seems slapdash, from the card to the Hall of Fame to the involvement of the legends. As for our official predictions, Stone Cold might probably get involved in the Brock Lesnar/Dean Ambrose angle, Rocky is getting involved with Shane/Taker, while HBK will somehow still be part of Triple H/Roman Reigns. Anything can happen, though.

    • As everyone likely knows by now, the finish to Chris Jericho vs. Neville was completely improvised after Neville sustained a legitimate ankle and shin injury following a baseball slide. Jericho tried to end the match early with a rollup, but referee Charles Robinson continued to do his job as he was trained to do and broke the count after apparently noticing one of Neville's shoulders were up. Jericho got angry and confronted Robinson, pushing him and causing Robinson to say, "Don't you fucking touch me!" and disqualify him. Although things were heated in the ring, they worked it out backstage. Robinson took to Twitter to own up to and apologize for the whole thing. (Source: F4WOnline)

We say: What a ring general, that Jericho is. He deserves a lot of recognition for knowing what to do at that exact moment.

We say: We get that it's tough to book a tag team when one of them is experiencing singles success, but this just sounds like a bad idea, considering the utter lack of teams in the scene and an already overcrowded midcard championship landscape. We mean, what is there for Sin Cara to do? Go back down to NXT?

What do you think? What roles do you predict the legends will have on the show? Will the Lucha Dragons really be breaking up? Let us know what you think in the comments!
