    The Grapevine (3/11/16): Civil War

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This is where we round up the most interesting rumors and news happening in the wild world of wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

We have some more interesting news about the little civil war inside WWE (see what we did there?):

    • It seems like if Shane McMahon returns to the company in an executive role, Vince might play him against Triple H and Stephanie. The stories surrounding the dynamic between all four top-ranking officials are currently unconfirmed, but the plans for the Vince vs. Shane angle were apparently rewritten. Shane was supposed to respond to Stephanie's promo, and was supposed to say that the couple should "make good on their promise to quit WWE if he won" because he was going to fire them on RAW if they didn't. (Source: WON)

We say: Don't believe everything you read is all we're going to say at this point. It's WrestleMania season and everything can happen now. We don't actually know what this news really means, whether this is legitimate internal strife leading to onscreen plans. What matters more to us is the tug-of-war involving Vince and NXT.

    • WWE is apparently interested in now in Kazuchika Okada. The catalyst that sparked the interest in him is the recent discovery that the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion is—get this—tall. NJPW had just recently offered him a new five-year deal, but it is unconfirmed whether the contract has been executed. (Source: WON)

We say: Predictable Vince is predictable. Good luck with that, though, as Casey O'Cade has explicitly stated a real aversion working for another American promotion. Thanks, TNA.

    • It looks like the WWE-themed restaurant in Universal Studios Orlando might not be a lock. We reported the other day that Attractions Management Magazine floated around word that the former NBA City would become a WWE-themed space, complete with a physical Hall of Fame, but now the Orlando Business Journal is saying that it's more likely the space will be home to a new Universal-themed concept. Universal has yet to officially unveil NBA City's replacement. (Source: Orlando Business Journal)

We say: This is why we do all these analyses on the Grapevine—to tell you what you should believe, and how much you should even be believing what you're reading. Why trust any other site?

What do you think? Where do you feel Vince/Shane is really going? Would you support an Okada run in the WWE? Let us know what you think in the comments!
