Beer Promdi Returns to Action at PWR Live: Manila Madness

A long-awaited return finally happens on Saturday night, as Mark D. Manalo reunites with his Beer Promdi partner Kanto Terror to take to the ring at PWR Live: Manila Madness.

On December 13, 2014, Kanto Terror searched the crowd for a partner that could help him defeat Main Maxx at PWR: Terminus. Some guy in a colorful polo stood up join the fight, and the fans were in for a treat when they realized that this guy from Batangas could really wrestle. That was Beer Promdi's first match together, and while they lost to the Perfect 10, they were able to establish themselves as a solid tag team in PWR. Together, Manalo and Kanto Terror picked up multiple victories over the now-disbanded Dual Shock (SANDATA and Peter Versoza) as well as the Fighters 4 Hire. It seemed that it was only a matter of time before Beer Promdi would warrant the title of PWR's best tag team — and maybe a tag team championship to go with it.

But everything changed when the Apocalypse attacked.

Last August at PWR Live, the masked nightmare laid out both members of Beer Promdi, lacerating Kanto Terror's eye and putting him on the shelf. This traumatizing incident left Kanto Terror in shock, walking out of the inaugural Suplado Show at PWR: Renaissance after being asked about what happened.

Since then, Manalo has been left to fend on his own. He sought payback against the Apocalypse, but lost to the latter in a Mask vs. Hair match at PWR: Terminus. He was also involved in a brief feud against John Sebastian of the Royal Flush, losing a tag team match (with Jake De Leon) and a singles match against the Ace-hole. It hasn't been an easy past couple of months for Manalo, but with his buddy Kanto Terror back, things should hopefully pick up.

    1. Kanto Terror's Kalawang

It's been roughly half a year since Kanto Terror was sidelined, and one has to wonder how he will fare in his first match back. Ring rust is a common concern when someone returns from injury, and we did not really hear from the guardian of Kanto Tinio street if he was recovering well in the past 6 months. Can Kanto Terror go at it now? We look forward to seeing if he can be as good as he was before.

    2. Who are the Mystery Foes?

Unlike the other announced matches, Beer Promdi is simply advertised as "returning to the ring". We have no idea on who they will face at PWR Live: Manila Madness. This creates an air of mystery surrounding the return of Beer Promdi, as we don't know who has the fortune of being the first men to face them upon their return.

A quick look at the PWR Live: Manila Madness card shows us who is not in action, and could serve as Beer Promdi's opponents in this match. John Sebastian, Peter Versoza, Vintendo, Joey Bax and Chino Guinto are all heading into Saturday without a match, and any combination of these guys (plus their allies) could step up and challenge a reunited Beer Promdi. It could even be someone we've never heard of, looking to make themselves famous. Regardless of who it will be, they better be ready to step up once the bell rings.

What do you think, Henrinites? Who will step up to challenge Beer Promdi? How will Kanto Terror fare in his return to the ring? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

PWR Live: Manila Madness will be on March 5, Saturday, at the Tanduay Covered Courts, Legarda Street, Manila. Tickets are priced at Php 350 and are once again available at The Appraisery. Further announcements regarding the show can be found on the Philippine Wrestling Revolution's Facebook page.
