The Grapevine (2/3/16): Coming to America

Good morning everyone, and welcome to the Grapevine! This is our daily post rounding up all the interesting rumors from the wild, wild world of pro wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

Your new favorite wrestler has landed:

    • Shinsuke Nakamura is already on his way to the U.S., and will most likely be working with SmackDown #1 Announcer Sho Funaki. Funaki has worked with all the Japanese talents who have come in. Shiny will be in the U.S. for two weeks to work out with the WWE before flying back to Japan, and then he'll be returning on WrestleMania weekend to work NXT TakeOver: Dallas against Sami Zayn. That will most likely be when he starts with the company full-time. (Source: WrestlingInc)

Here's a photo of him at the airport in Japan, looking like your pa-cool balikbayan Tito Boy:

We say: YeahOh! Now when is the rest of the Bullet Club heading over?

    • Regarding WrestleMania 32 plans, Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt and Undertaker vs. Braun Strowman are looking like a definite lock. Vince McMahon originally wanted Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman so much, but was talked out of it. He had to settle for Braun/Taker, which is another idea he really loves. Undertaker was originally supposed to face John Cena before his injury, while Brock was rumored to face different opponents, from the Rock to Kevin Owens. (Source: WrestlingInc, PWInsider)

We say: We definitely don't mind Brock vs. Bray (although Brock vs. Dean for the Intercontinental Championship is a boat they're missing way out on) but we're a little uncomfortable with Undertaker vs. Braun. If we're really getting that, then it seems 2016 is not the year Taker will be retiring.

    • Brie Bella is being inserted into a feud with Charlotte to take advantage of the sympathy people feel toward Nikki. Nikki had just come off potentially career-ending neck surgery, and the feud also makes for a convenient Total Divas tie-in. The feud isn't going to carry into WrestleMania; apparently, Sasha Banks is being groomed to be Charlotte's opponent at the big show. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: We figured that was the case for both the feud and her apparent face turn. Great news about Sasha, though!

What do you think? What Nakamura dream matchups do you want to see happen this year? Are you okay with Brock facing Bray and Taker facing Braun? Let us know what you think in the comments!
