The Grapevine (12/15/15): That's My Pueblo

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the Grapevine, where we round up the (technically unconfirmed) rumors from the wild world of pro wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

Not too much breaking news on this cold December morning:

    • After officially debuting in last weekend's set of Lucha Underground tapings, we have word that Rey Mysterio will be featured heavily in the show's second season. He filmed a lot of material with the show over the weekend, but it remains to be seen if he was able to actually film a match given the condition of his knee. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: Think the biggest question here really is whether he's actually working. Because if that injury has limited what he can do on the show, signing Rey might be a silly investment on their part. We have faith, however, knowing what Robert Rodriguez can do with everything he's got.

    • Viral indy star Joey Ryan, of "dick suplex" fame, has also been signed to Lucha Underground. No word yet on what he will be doing, or whether the Temple will bear witness to Dong Style. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: If this doesn't lead to a Cero Miedo match between Joey Ryan and Pimpy at next year's Ultima Lucha...

    • Sasha Banks vs. Natalya was originally planned for the TLC preshow. It was pulled and replaced with Sasha vs. Becky Lynch because Natalya had not been on TV in a while after her storyline with Team BAD. The match was planned to take place as early as Survivor Series last month. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: ...Hands up if you also forgot Natalya existed and they had a feud. (That would've been a great tag match, by the way.)

What do you think? What sort of role do you expect to see Rey Mysterio and/or Joey Ryan have on Lucha Underground? Let us know what you think in the comments!
